Privacy
This page explains what happens to your data when you visit this site. It has no user accounts, no analytics, and no cookies of its own — but a few things are worth being upfront about.
Controller. Thomas Kranawetter, reachable at yumyumbeanfish [at] pm [dot] me, is responsible for this site under the GDPR ("DSGVO").
Hosting (Strato). This site is hosted on a webspace provided by Strato AG (Germany). When you load any page, your browser automatically sends technical data to Strato's servers — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, date and time — which are stored briefly in server logs to operate and secure the service. I don't have access to these logs myself. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure website). See Strato's privacy policy for details.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. This site doesn't use cookies, doesn't run Google Analytics or any similar service, and doesn't build visitor profiles.
Fonts. The typeface ("Space Mono") is hosted directly on this site — it doesn't load from Google's or any other third-party font server, so no data is sent anywhere just for displaying text.
Discogs cover art. On the records page, album covers are loaded directly from Discogs' image servers (i.discogs.com) rather than stored on this site. Viewing that page causes your browser to request those images straight from Discogs (Zink Media, Inc., USA), which receives your IP address in the process. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in showing accurate, up-to-date cover art without duplicating copyrighted images. See Discogs' privacy policy.
Photos. Photos in the gallery are fetched periodically from my Glass feed by an automated job and stored on this site's own webspace — your browser doesn't contact Glass's servers just by browsing the gallery. If you click through to view a photo on Glass, you leave this site and Glass's own privacy policy applies.
Apple Music embed. The now page embeds an Apple Music playlist widget showing what I'm currently listening to. Loading that page causes your browser to connect directly to Apple's servers (embed.music.apple.com), which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies to enable playback. I have no control over that processing. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in sharing what I'm currently listening to. See Apple's privacy policy.
Contact form. If you use the contact form, whatever you type (name, email, message) is sent directly to Web3Forms, a third-party form-relay service, which emails it to me and automatically deletes the submission afterwards (30 days on the free plan I use). Web3Forms may share the sender's IP or email with anti-spam services like CleanTalk purely to filter bots — nothing else. The hidden field and the little math question on the form exist only to catch automated spam; they don't profile anyone. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent, given by filling out and submitting the form. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.
Your rights. Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, ask me to restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. Reach out at the email above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority (dsb.gv.at) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
